Lad's school jumper found on roof after more than 20 years

A former pupil's jumper has been found on the roof of his old primary school... more than 20 years after he left. Headteacher Rachel Gourley said workmen had discovered the weatherworn jersey following a leak in one of the roofs at Huxley CoE Primary School, in Chester, on Tuesday (September 26).

She wrote: “Here at Huxley we are always saying if an item of uniform is named it will find its way back to you. Therefore would TOMMY CRANK - AGED 27 like to collect his jumper from the school? "It has been on our roof for approximately 20 years so it may need a good clean.

Whilst I often take home items of uniform to wash, I think I will leave this one for you.” Rachel, who runs the flexi-school, said when the workmen first came across the jumper, they thought it was a football.
