Josh Homme has promised that he will “roll his sleeves up” so that the next album Queens Of The Stone Age won’t keep fans waiting too long.The frontman discussed the plans for new material during a new appearance on the Dish podcast, where he looked back at the band’s run of tour dates and the fans’ response to their most recent work.Homme and co.
dropped their latest LP, ‘In Times New Roman…’, last year, and the release marked their eighth studio album and long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s ‘Villains’.
However, according to the vocalist, the band have no intention of waiting another six years to drop more material.“There was too much time in between the last record and this one,” he said (via Music News). “The goal is to make things and enjoy that process and so I’m going to roll up my sleeves and jump right into this.”He also went on to express his appreciation for Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl, and admit that he has been like a “brother” to him throughout his time in the music industry. “No one has done more for me in my career than Dave,” Homme said. “He definitely told the world about me and my vast and endless well of talent, and he’s just always been like a brother.”A post shared by NME (@nmemagazine)The comments made by the singer reflect those shared by guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and drummer Jon Theodore while at Download this summer, when the two hinted to NME that they had new material in the works.“I think we’re going to take a little break.
