Alison Hammond seemed to backtrack as she addressed Strictly "scandal" during a segment on This Morning. The 49-year-old presenter was back on the ITV daytime show on Thursday (July 18) alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary, where they discussed the latest news headlines with contributors Tim Campbell and Vanessa Feltz.

The discussion began with the resurfaced video of former professional dancer James Jordan throwing a chair and telling his partner he'll "drag her across the floor", a clip he says was "heavily edited for entertainment proposes" for spin-off show It Takes Two.

Alison, who was a contestant on Strictly in 2014, initially referred to the controversy surrounding the BBC show as a "scandal".

She said: "This story is just not going away. We've done it literally every day this week. It's the Strictly scandal." After a brief pause, she continued: "Well i'm calling it the Strictly scandal.
