The Chase fans were left searching for hankies after presenter Bradley Walsh stopped the show for a deeply moving moment. In a re-run of the popular ITV quiz, a fresh group of hopefuls was introduced by Walsh, all eager to win some serious cash.

Contestants Rhys, Ann, Bethan and Darren joined the show, ready to take on their knowledge challenge, facing the tough Chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, Leeds Live reports. But it was contestant Ann who captured attention with her touching story as she spoke about her husband's recent diagnosis of dementia, which he received as COVID-19 struck.

She seized a moment to highlight her husband’s situation, saying, "Could I make a plug for my husband?" Walsh warmly encouraged her with a comforting: "Plug away darling." Ann took the chance to say: "His name is John, he is in a care home and they'll all be watching.

Can you say hello to John and all the staff." Walsh immediately obliged, turning to the camera with a sincere address: "John, lots of love to you mate, everyone looking after everyone there, and especially those looking after John."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
