ok.co.ukEver since Coronation Street favourite Mary Taylor lost her lover Norris back in 2021, the star has been sorely neglected in the romance department, with her will-they-won’t-they relationship with Brian Packham never quite getting off the ground.
However, in new scenes which aired on Tuesday 13 February, Mary revealed that she was beginning the lament her lack of partner, as she revealed she would instead be spending her Valentine’s Day this year crying into her Ben Shephard cushion.The hilarious but heartbreaking development first began when Billy Mayhew had hoped to impress his husband Paul Foreman with a surprise Valentine’s gift of a ride in a motorcycle sidecar, driven by his pal biker Dewy.
But when the pair were driven back to the heart of Weatherfield, the trio were greeted by Mary, who couldn’t stop swooning over the newcomer - and wasn’t afraid to show it.
After hearing that the biker’s name was Dewy, a loved up Mary immediately told him: "What a fine name!" The eccentric florist then took things one step further she went on: "Evoking Mother Nature's early morning dew - what could be more enticing!” Onlooker Summer Spellman, then came to Dewy’s rescue as she chimed in: "Just off to you're girlfriends aren't you Dewy,” leaving an awkward and slightly heartbroken Mary to add: "Oh well, let's crack on," as she flashed a cheeky smile at her new crush.
