Coronation Street star Calum Lill has said it's 'bittersweet' as he spoke about his exit from the ITV soap. While it's not clear when he may leave, or if his character Joel Deering will get his comeuppance, the actor has spoken about playing the show's latest villain.

Then, a flashback clip revealed him to be Lauren's secret 'boyfriend' and saw him brutally attack her with a chair leg. For months, Corrie fans were left to ponder whether Lauren had survived the ordeal and it was confirmed she did when she appeared by Roy's bedside in the hospital after he suffered a heart attack.
