"It was worse than Christmas": Shoppers trapped in Trafford Retail Park for TWO HOURS as others 'abandon cars'

Pictures taken from Trafford Retail Park, Barton Road, showed scores of vehicles snaking around the car park in chaotic scenes that one shopper likened to being 'worse than Christmas'.
Some shoppers reportedly even got out of their cars and walked to McDonald's only to find their car had not moved when they returned, as one mum claimed she spent '25 minutes' trying to get out of her parking space. She called the situation 'horrendous' and said she would not be returning to the shopping park again. She said that once out of the park, nearby Barton Road was also congested in both directions up to the M60 slip road, where traffic then eased.
