Jill Canovan took her own life at Heaton Chapel railway station in Stockport around 4am on Monday, June 3, following a long battle with mental health issues.

According to data from the Office of Rail and Road, there were 300 suicides or suspected attempts on the UK's mainline between April 2022 and March 2023, resulting in 236 deaths.
