Earlier tonight, Holly Willoughby issued an apology to the Dancing on Ice audience and those watching at home, after it was speculated that she accidentally swore while live on air.

During the show - where S Club 7's Hannah Spearitt became the second celeb to leave - the 42 year old addressed the cameras to say sorry and to explain what caused the cheeky mishap.

She revealed that her co-host, Stephen Mulhern caught her off guard as they were presenting, which caused her to react by potentially saying a "naughty word." Holly said: "A little bit earlier on, Stephen may have made me jump and I think it might have sounded like a naughty word slipped out." "I don't think I did but I'm sorry if that's what you thought you might have heard," she continued, before insisting: "But I don't think I did." Following her apology, Holly then joked that she'll find out whether she made the error by rewatching the moment on ITV player. "Because that's where you can watch these things back," she teased again as she endorsed the channel's video on demand streaming service.

However, Holly was not prepared to take the blame for alleged mishap, and instead, said that it was Stephen's fault for "being so naughty." Plenty of Twitter users also chimed in on the 'did she didn't she' moment, and put their detective skills to the test to uncover the truth. "*GASPS* Did Holly just swear when @StephenMulhern shouted Boo to her?" one person penned while a second said: "Hang on did I miss Holly swearing?" "Did Holly just swear on Dancing on Ice?" another queried.
