Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs (born April 9, 1963) is an American fashion designer. He is the head designer for his own fashion label, Marc Jacobs, and formerly Marc by Marc Jacobs, a diffusion line, which was produced for approximately 15 years having been discontinued after the 2015 fall/winter collection. At one point there were over 200 retail stores in 80 countries.

He was the creative director of the French design house Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2014. Jacobs was on Time magazine's "2010 Time 100" list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and was #14 on Out magazine's 2012 list of "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America". He got married on 7 April 2019, to his long time boyfriend Charly Defrancesco.

The Smashing Pumpkins have joined forces with Marc Jacobs for a new fashion capsule collection.Announced on Instagram, the ‘90s alt-rock icons have teamed up with Heaven by Marc Jacobs to drop a new fashion collection.The range is comprised of a number of clothing items inspired by the band’s album artwork throughout the years, and includes a ‘Siamese Dream’-themed baby tee – which is already sold out – a matching shoulder bag (£195), an ‘Infinite Sadness’ tour long sleeve tee (£105), and a ‘Zero’ zip-up hoodie (£225).A skirt, oversized ringer tee and a hoodie are also available.As expected, the entire collection is pretty pricey, with the t-shirts priced at around £100, hoodies at £225, the bag at £195 and the skirt at £250.

Before launching the partnership with The Smashing Pumpkins, the brand also launched collections inspired by both Cocteau Twins and Deftones.The announcement of the joint range comes just days after the Billy Corgan-led group dropped their surprise album ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’.Announced in July, the LP marked the 13th album from the alt-rock icons and followed on from ‘Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts’, which arrived in May 2023.The members also confirmed that they would not be sharing any singles beforehand. “We played this game of Rock and Roll for 36 years,” the frontman wrote in a statement. “And… had to give the knee many times to what is the first song and what is the first statement and let other people judge us by one moment in time.
