Actor Marcus Scribner has played Junior Johnson on Black-ish and Grown-ish for nearly a decade, but it still takes him a minute to get into character.“I’m half-asleep, but I know my amazing cast and crew will wake me up as soon as we hit the set,” the How to Blow Up a Pipeline star, 23, exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly of his early morning call time.Scribner rose to fame playing Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross’ eldest TV son on Black-ish.

After the ABC sitcom wrapped in 2022, the California native joined onscreen sibling Yara Shahidi (Zoey Johnson) on her Freeform spinoff, Grown-ish.

Season 5 of the teen comedy saw Scribner’s Junior kick off his freshman year at California University — the same school that Zoey had graduated from the season prior.News broke in March that Grown-ish had been renewed for a sixth and final season, which returns to Freeform on June 28.“It’s been almost 10 years of playing Junior, and it’s crazy to see it finally come to an end,” Scribner tells Us. “You won’t be disappointed!”While the F**k-It List star is now an adult, he spent his formative years as a child actor on Black-ish.“I mean, I had been told ‘no’ so often on auditions before that and I tried to not let that affect me.
