Our tipster Bob Cross provides his selections for Saturday's Grand National... All eyes will turn to Liverpool on Saturday as the wonderful spectacle that is the Grand National takes place at Aintree with an off time of 5.15pm.First run in 1839, this is the most valuable jump race in Europe with the winner pocketing half a million pounds. It is believed that over 500 million people throughout the world will watch the race on television and many will be having their annual wager.Picking the winner of the race is never easy, even the best horse needs a bit of luck in running, but here are my my four selections for the event.Roi Mage (nap) was bought last year specifically for the Grand National.

He missed the cut by one place last year and has been prepared patiently for his big day. The owners won this in 2013 with Auroras Encore - so they know what they are doing!

Roi Mage had won nearly a million Euros in France before going to Patrick Griffins Yard in Dublin. A similar run to his effort last month at Down Royal could see him in the mix - at a big price.

The last Scottish trained winner was back in 2017 when One For Arthur came from miles back to land the spoils. Derek Fox was the jockey that day and he will get the leg up on the likely favourite, Corach Rambler ,who will also be held onto until late in the race.
