Kate Garraway faced a wave of criticism today (June 6) as she stepped out of the Good Morning Britain studio to cover the 80th anniversary of D-Day, leaving viewers less than impressed. The ITV host was on location at Ver-Sur-Mer, sharing her personal experience of tracing the steps of those who fought on D-Day.

Normandy was bustling with commemorations marking the significant 80th anniversary of the day.Kate panned her camera over the field behind her, filled with silhouettes symbolising the more than 1,000 soldiers who tragically lost their lives.

She then shifted focus to a large stone structure, explaining: "It's very moving as well for me to be here because I was here five years ago for the 75th anniversary when this stone was laid - The first stone of the British memorial."She elaborated on the significance of the stone, a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the war.

However, midway through her explanation, Kate began to cough. Apologising, she attempted to continue but her voice wavered and she started to cough again, reports the Express.
