The members of Girls Aloud have revealed that they didn't tell their friends and family about their upcoming reunion, and have been avoiding everyone in the weeks prior to the announcement.

Appearing on Zoe Ball's Radio Two show on Thursday morning, Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh opened up about their upcoming reunion, which is in honour of their late bandmate Sarah Harding.

When asked how long they've been keeping the secret, Nicola replied: "Months and months, we didn't tell our family and friends, our families didn't know." To which Nadine added: "When we put out the teaser, we've been ignoring people all week." And Kimberley quipped: "We've been ignoring people on the school run." The band announced their reunion tour on Instagram on Wednesday 22 November, as they wrote: "We’re so excited to announce that we will be touring the UK & Ireland in May and June 2024. “A celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans.

We can’t wait to sing and dance with you all once again. - Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine & Nicola." Speaking to British Vogue about the exciting news, Kimberley explained that they’re determined to give late bandmate Sarah, who tragically died aged 39 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, her time to shine on the tour. “I think we channelled our grief into all the fundraising we did for The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal and that helped us a lot.
