Gemma Atkinson forced to snap back at mum-shamers who air concern over new baby

Gemma Atkinson has snapped back at Instagram mum-shamers after they raised concerns over her son Thiago, when she shared an adorable snap of the newborn napping.The former Hollyoaks star, 38, and her fiance Gorka Márquez welcomed their son just a few weeks ago, but Gemma has already fallen victim to online mum-shamers.The mum-of-two took to Instagram to share some snaps as she introduced her newborn son to her radio co-host Mike Toolan.

One of these snaps saw Thiago in a wicker basket napping while laying on his front, and it was this photo that sparked concern with some of Gemma's followers.

One wrote: "Please put him to sleep on his back to prevent SIDS xxx" and a second added: "Oh not sure about babies sleeping on their front, that could be quite dangerous." "Since they introduced the advice to put babies to sleep on their back, the SIDS rate has dropped by 85 per cent," commented a third.

Gemma was quick to hit back at these commenters, writing: "He does sleep on his back. He naps on his front a few times throughout the day when I’m sat on the chair next to him. "He’s also able to lift and move his head in both directions when on his front.
