Even the bride in what was dubbed the ‘society wedding of the year’ could not escape Great British weather, as her train flew out behind her in the wind to gasps from wedding attendees.
Olivia Henson, who got married to Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, at 12pm on June 7, wore a stunning floor-length backless embroidered wedding dress by British designer Emma Victoria Payne, also known as EVP.The dress had a two metre-long train and a waterfall veil which ended up causing a little drama when they got blown by the wind on her way into the cathedral.
Onlookers and photographers alike gasped when the white train and veil flew up into the sky, but the gasps quickly turned into appreciative sighs as the bride looked nothing short of ethereal in the wind.
Olivia also donned a piece of Grosvenor family history: the Fabergé Myrtle Leaf Tiara. The tiara is made from gold and silver and looks like two sprays of myrtle leaves and berries in a nod to the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite.
