French Director Mathieu Kassovitz Injured in Motorbike Accident

French director and actor Mathieu Kassovitz has been seriously injured in a motorbike accident. French media reports that the incident involving the 56-year-old took place on Sunday (September 3) on the Montlhéry circuit outside Paris, according to Deadline. Keep reading to find out more… French news outlet BFMTV reported that Mathieu had been taken to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital in Paris and that his entourage stated that his injuries are non-life-threatening. Mathieu is best known for writing and directing the 1995 film La Haine, in which he also played a small on-screen role. Mathieu won Best Director in Cannes in 1995 for the film and was also awarded the French César for Best Film.

As an actor, Mathieu‘s filmography includes Steven Spielberg‘s 2005 movie Munich and the 2001 French classic Amélie.
