Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Tubi, Fox Corp.’s ad-supported video-on-demand service, is eyeing a bigger international footprint: The streamer has tapped David Salmon, former CTO of Endeavor Streaming, as executive VP and managing director of international.
Salmon, based in the U.K., will report to Tubi CEO Anjali Sud, the ex-chief exec of Vimeo who started at the streamer in September.
Tubi’s biggest market is the U.S., where it first launched. The AVOD streamer is also available in Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama.
In a note on its website, Tubi says, “Tubi is not currently available to users in the EU and UK. We hope to relaunch in the EU and UK in the future.” Most recently, Salmon was chief product and technology officer at Bambuser, an interactive live video streaming provider.
