Five flood alerts were in place across the region on Sunday (July 23) after a long spell of heavy rain battered Greater Manchester.
The Environment Agency warned of potential flooding in a number of areas, with prolonged and heavy rainfall expected to cause disruption.
It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning until 11.59pm on Sunday, warning of potential delays on the roads and to public transport.
Northern announced a number of trains had been cancelled due to flooding on the tracks between Wigan and Southport as a number of areas across the region were warned of possible low-lying land and roads close to rivers and streams also becoming heavily flooded.
