Around 1,500 bus drivers are taking part in strike action across Greater Manchester today, with hundreds of services off the roads as a result, a union said.
Drivers employed by operators First and Stagecoach walked out today in the first day of a series of planned strikes - as Unite the union announced proposed action would continue into August and September.
First Manchester services will be affected today, as well as next Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Further strikes by First employees are scheduled for August 21, 23 and 25.

But Unite said today drivers from both operators are set to to take further action over the August Bank Holiday weekend of the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th, as well as September 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
