First UK Cost of Living Payments to start tomorrow - here's when you can expect to receive your cash

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will soon issue its first wave of Cost of Living payment for 2023. It is understood that millions across the country will see the £301 land directly in their bank accounts from tomorrow (April 25).

It will be part of a £900 payment - split into three instalments - intended to help those receiving eligible means-tested benefits with everyday expenses such as food and bills.

Mel Stride, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “These payments will give a financial boost to more than eight million households as we continue to wrap our arms around the most vulnerable, while the best way we can protect people from high costs is to halve inflation by the end of this year. Anyone looking to boost their skills or progress their career should speak to their work coach to ensure they’re accessing all the support the DWP can provide.” Tomorrow's Cost of Living Payment will be made available to those who are receiving payments from means-tested benefits such as: Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, and Universal Credit.
