Fans beg for Gavin and Stacey come back as James Corden and Ruth Jones reunite

James Corden and Ruth Jones have reunited after they were spotted out and about in Soho, London.The Gavin and Stacey writers seemed to be in high spirits as they were seen smiling and chatting together - raising fans' hopes of a new episode, reports the Mirror.James - who in recent years has cracked America by hosting The Late Late Show - arrived back in the UK earlier this year after eight years in the States.

In pictures seen on the Mirror, James sported a purple jumper with a lion motif on the front along with a pair of jeans, Nike trainers, and sunglasses, whilst his on-screen partner, Ruth, who plays fan-favourite Nessa, wore a funnel neck grey sweatshirt along with a pair of navy tracksuit bottoms and grey trainers.The sight of James, who starred as Smithy in the Welsh-based series, and Ruth out together has sparked excitement among fans after they've been begging for a new episode after the last instalment was left on a cliffhanger.

In the final scene of the Christmas special - which aired in 2019 - explored the relationships of the family ten years on, with Nessa shocking fans by confessing her love for Smithy and proposing to him outside Gwen's house.However, viewers never discovered whether the pair lived happily ever after, as the episode cut to the credits shortly after she popped the question.

Since the epic reunion aired, fans have struggled for another offering of the comedy - or a fourth season. However, Gavin and Stacey stars Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, who play Gavin's parents Mick and Pam Shipman, have admitted they like the idea of a one-off special but aren't keen on creating another whole series.Actress Alison said: "I’d like to do another, but I don’t know if I could do seven episodes.
