Ex-Scotland star Ikechi Anya and mum attacked with hammer and taser during home invasion as £20k of watches taken

A former Scotland international star was robbed of three watches worth £20k in an armed raid last week, his brother saidGlasgow born Ikechi Anya, 36, was at home with his mum when two men, armed with a Taser and a hammer, broke into a property in Kidlington, Oxon.

One of the watches stolen last Friday, June 28, was a Chopard Classic Racing Superfast with the Watford FC badge and 'April 2015' engraved on it - marking the year and month of the side's promotion to the Premier League.A woman in her 60s - believed to be Ikechi's mum - suffered minor injuries in the ordeal but did not require hospital treatment, police said.Ikechi's brother, Chima Anya, posted a police appeal on X, formerly Twitter, and identified his brother and mum as the victims.

He wrote: "Got some real bad news today. Ikechi was robbed, they took his Watford Chopard amongst other watches. "My mum and him were in the house.

If people could circulate this would be grateful."Thames Valley Police has appealed for witnesses over the incident. The force said in a statement: "At around 11am, two men armed with a Taser and a hammer broke into a property in Benmead Road."They assaulted and threatened a man in his thirties and a woman in her sixties before stealing three watches, worth a total of £20,000."The offenders then fled on a black motorcycle that they arrived on, which was not displaying index plates.
