Most expensive seaside spots to buy a home in UK shows stark Northern-Southern split
dailyrecord.co.ukThe latest property price data reveals a stark contrast between some of Scotland's picturesque but cheaper coastal properties and southern England's continuing housing crisis - with some people paying more than £1 million just to say they live in the right town.Glamorous Sandbanks in Dorset topped the list as Britain's most expensive seaside town, with average property prices reaching nearly £1.6 million, based on Rightmove's survey of over 200 coastal locations in the UK.
For the same cost, house hunters could snap up almost 14 homes in Saltcoats.With average asking prices at a modest £114,365, Saltcoats has been pinpointed as the most affordable seaside area in the research.
While some spots in northern England are close behind, with Easington in County Durham ranked just above Saltcoats with an average property value of £122,520, followed closely by Peterlee in the same region, at £124,593.
