Holidaymakers are continuing to face some disruption at Manchester Airport following a global IT outage. Airlines were hit by the worldwide technical glitch yesterday, causing delays and some cancellations.
Images sent to the Manchester Evening News showed holidaymakers queuing through the car park at terminal three after the airport said check-in and boarding had to be completed manually.
It came on the busiest day of the year so far for UK air travel as thousands of families embarked on summer holidays at the end of the academic year for many schools. In an update this morning, a spokesperson for the airport said "all airlines’ operations are running as usual". They added: "Passengers whose flights were affected yesterday will have heard from their airlines in terms of next steps.
