Eurovision star Sara Tavares, who represented Portugal in the 1994 contest, has sadly passed away at just 45 after a a decade-long fight with a brain tumour.
Sara is fondly remembered for her performance of "Chamar a Musica" in Dublin, which secured one of Portugal's best results ever in the competition when she finished eighth.
Her family announced the heartbreaking news of her passing to Portugese media, with tributes for the singer quickly pouring in across social media.Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: "Sara Tavares was such a talent, with a beautiful voice and an amazing discography, and I’m so saddened to hear of her passing.
She was only 45, and cancer f*cking sucks for taking her so soon." "Portugal just lost another great artist: Sara Tavares.The Portuguese music scene will not be same without you.
