People in Scotland have woken up to a blanketing of snow today after temperatures plunged overnight, with many areas well below freezing.
Yesterday, the Met Office issued a string of weather warnings for people in the north, west and borders regions, warning that the snow and ice had the potential to cause disruption to travel and public transport.
The forecasters predicted that temperatures would plunge to as low as -10C in parts of Scotland, with other regions 'struggling' to make it above subzero temperatures.
Northern Lights in your pictures as phenomenon captured across whole of Scotland Some places did approach -10C overnight, with Tulloch Bridge and Eskdalemuir reaching minus 8C.The areas with the most snow on Friday were Aviemore, Invernesshire, 5cm; Albemarle, Northumberland, 2cm; Bingley, West Yorkshire, 2cm; and Loftus, Cleveland, 1cm.There are still a few scattered weather warnings in place for Scotland that are set to end by 11am this morning.
