Eric Carmen, the singer of 'All By Myself' and frontman of the Raspberries, has sadly passed away at the age of 74. Carmen was a famous singer-songwriter from the US and shot to fame as part of the power pop group, the Raspberries.Later, he made a name for himself as a solo artist with hit songs like 'Hungry Eyes'.
This song was featured in the 1987 film 'Dirty Dancing', which starred Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.He also had other big solo hits like 'All By Myself' from 1975.
This song is played in the opening scene of 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and was later covered by Celine Dion.As a songwriter, Eric wrote 'Almost Paradise' for the 'Footloose' soundtrack.
He also wrote 'Never Gonna Fall In Love Again' and 'Make Me Lose Control'.His wife Amy shared the sad news of his passing on his official website.
