As Charles frets over framing his father for stealing a family heirloom, Kevin talks candidly about his own feelings of regret for working hundreds of miles away from his glamorous international DJ partner and two children.
But the actor jokes his partner of 11 years, Nikki Beatnik – who DJs with A-list stars including Kelis, Jay-Z and Kanye West – would have “killed him” if he hadn’t accepted the soap role of the vicar nearly three years ago because she knows how much it means to him.
Proud dad Kevin, 50, who commutes from the family home in south London to Leeds where Emmerdale is filmed, confides, “I do feel guilty being away from the family, especially when the schedule is really busy and I am working five days in a week.
