Eight youngsters secure employment thanks to North Lanarkshire trainee programme

Through an innovative craft trainee programme, eight individuals from North Lanarkshire have secured employment positions with SP Energy Networks (SPEN).

The partnership, between North Lanarkshire Council and SPEN, is helping address an identified skills gap and propelling the community towards a Net Zero future.The programme, hosted at the Scottish Power Training Centre in Cumbernauld, signifies a collaborative effort between the council, SP Energy Networks, and industry partners to address the evolving energy landscape.

With a focus on LV Cable Jointing and Civils, this initiative aligns with SPEN’s vision of creating 100 jobs across the West of Scotland.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
