Lanarkshire residents run hundreds of litter picks for Keep Scotland Beautiful spring clean

Thousands of Lanarkshire residents took action for their local environment by taking part in hundreds of litter picks during Keep Scotland Beautiful’s annual spring clean.A total of 369 events were held across the county as school pupils, community group members and local residents joined more than 45,000 Scots in helping tackle what the charity describes as a “litter emergency”.North Lanarkshire residents ran a grand total of 235 litter picks, while another 134 took place in neighbouring South Lanarkshire as the number of people getting involved across the country soared compared to 2023.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
