EasyJet flight from Glasgow forced to make emergency landing after mid-air fault

A major fault on an easyJet flight from Glasgow to Gran Canaria triggered an emergency landing this afternoon.The EZY3111 flight took off at around 12.15pm as scheduled, but was forced to land at London Gatwick after a hydraulic pump on the aircraft failed.An image of the flight path shared by the FlightAware website showed the airplane had travelled down the west coast of England before it had to head back towards London due to the technical fault.Emergency crews met the plane when it landed safely at the airport at around 2.45pm.

Passengers were then moved to another plane to continue on their journey at around 5pm. An easyJet spokesperson said: “We can confirm that flight EZY3111 from Glasgow to Gran Canaria diverted to Gatwick due to a technical issue.
