A suspected arson attack in the early hours has rocked a Greater Manchester neighbourhood. The front window of a house on a quiet residential street was shattered during the incident in Wigan.
Firefighters and police responded to the suspected arson attack just before 2.30am on Saturday. Neighbours said they had slept through the incident, but woke to see a fire engine and police officers parked up on quiet Laithwaite Road, in the Worsley Hall area.
In the cold light of day, officers are now investigating the incident as a suspected arson. Enquiries in the area continue. One person said they couldn't understand why the home was attacked.
They speculated a 'petrol bomb' was launched at the property.
