Jamiroquai's lead singer Jay Kay looks totally different 32 years after the band's first hit single, When You Gonna Learn. The 54 year old, famed for his eccentric dress sense and love of hats, regularly appears on the band's official Instagram page.

In one video, he could be seen cycling along a Welsh beach, wrapped up in a navy waterproof coat and a green beanie - a far cry from some of his statement stage ensembles.

Jamiroquai was established in 1992, becoming a key player in London's funk and acid jazz scene in the 90s.The band had three number one albums in the UK - Emergency on Planet Earth, Synkronized and A Funk Odyssey.Their 1998 single Deeper Underground also topped the charts in the UK.

They continued to produce music throughout the early 2000s but took a break for seven years before releasing Automaton in 2017 - their eighth studio album. That year, lead singer Jay went through some health issues during the Automaton world tour, which left him unable to move due to painful spinal injections. The singer shared his journey via a video posted from his hospital bed, dressed in a white hospital gown, where he said: "I've just come out of the theatre where I had some stunningly painful injections to my spinal discs as it were." Back in 2017, Jay Kay landed himself in hot water after making offensive comments about Cheryl, calling the then X Factor judge "f*****g useless".
