Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.
Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.
After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.
Duchess Sophie looked to be having the time of her life as she was spotted dancing along to Lionel Richie's All Night Long during his stellar set at Sunday's Coronation Concert, held at Windsor Castle. The newly-appointed Duchess of Edinburgh looked stunning in a coral dress as she attended the event alongside her husband, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and their children, Lady Louise, 19, and James, Viscount Severn, 15, along with the rest of the royal family.
Sophie, 48, could be seen shimmying away to Lionel's energetic set, as she proved she was clearly a fan of the world-famous crooner.
King Charles and Queen Camilla could be seen getting into the mood of things too, as they waved their Union Jack flags and donned their blue light-up wrist bands like the rest of the crowd.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, were also in attendance at the concert with their two eldest children, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, who recently celebrated her eighth birthday. The Wales' youngest son, five year old Prince Louis, was nowhere to be seen - and one could assume that the party went on a little late for him.
