Drivers have been warned of a major road closure in Trafford set to last six weeks. Gas company Cadent will partially close Ashburton Road West, at the Junction of Taylor Road, from April 22.

This means there will be delays and changes in traffic flow. Staff have warned motorists about a diversion in place on the street while the works take place. It ensures the gas network can safely transport gas to the local area for many years to come. "With many businesses and industrial sites reliant on gas to operate what they do, that’s why this is critical engineering.

We’ll have teams visiting the businesses in the area to explain the diversion and the temporary traffic arrangements. "We’ve worked closely with Trafford Council to agree a plan that mainly involves a short diversion route.” For around six weeks, which will start on the 22nd April, it will require some temporary traffic arrangements to enable the safe flow of vehicles around the work area.
