‘Doctor Sleep’ and ‘The Haunting Of Hill House’ director to helm “radical” new ‘Exorcist’ film

Exorcist film is in the works with horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan tapped to direct.Per a report by Deadline Hollywood, horror filmhouse Blumhouse has confirmed that Flanagan will lead a new entry in the Exorcist universe, telling an entirely new story.

It has also confirmed that the movie will not be tied to last year’s The Exorcist: Believer from director David Gordon Green.In a press statement announcing Flanagan’s attachment to the next Exorcist film, Blumhouse promised that the director’s movie will be a “radical new take” on the horror franchise that has spanned nearly five decades.So excited we can finally confirm this!

A trilogy was originally planned for Green’s Exorcist films, with a sequel titled The Exorcist: Deceiver previously inked to arrived in 2025.
