One of the BBC's longest-serving presenters said an emotional farewell to his listeners after nearly three decades of entertainment - saying the job has been a "privilege".
The star, 76, has decided to step down from his radio role and will be replaced by Strictly Come Dancing star Katie Derham and Petroc Trelawny, who currently fronts the weekday breakfast show.
However, the switch will not be taking place until next year. Sean Rafferty has been the host of the BBC's In Tune, a mixture of live music and interviews from the world's finest classical musicians, on Radio 3 more than 25 years.
He said in a statement: "I shall miss the truly remarkable and life-enhancing musicians, many coming to the studio ever since they began their careers - a joy.
