Charles, who is now 61, made quite the impact on Weatherfield when he joined the ITV soap back in 2000 and featured in many gripping storylines, including his ill-fated romance with Janice Battersby (Vicky Entwistle) while being involved with Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).
His Corrie journey ended after two years with Dennis tragically dying in a car crash following a desperate attempt to save a suicidal Les Battersby (Bruce Jones).
Years later, Charles Dale is making major moves in local politics and enjoying life out of the limelight while still keeping one foot in the acting world.
