Coronation Street's Stephen finally caught as net closes in on killer

Coronation Street killer Stephen Reid has been feeling the heat as his murderous crimes have been catching up with him in the latest episodes of the ITV soap.It comes after a dead body was discovered on the building site Ed and Ronnie had acquired.In Wednesday's episode, Craig arrived at the pub to reveal the identity of the body to Jenny that it was in fact Leo's, her ex-boyfriend, who she believed had gone to Canada to start a new life without her.In chilling scenes, Stephen comforted her, as Jenny was completely unaware his murder was his doing.

When Craig left the pub he let Stephen know statements would need to be made which prompted a groundbreaking confession from Tim Metcalfe.He confirmed that Leo's final moments included him punching Stephen in the face over his feelings for Jenny - as Stephen was ushered to the police station to file a statement.But he seemed to get away with things again although his killing spree continued to haunt him when he arrived back home as he experienced flashbacks of his three murders.

Unable to sleep, Stephen made his way down to the canal where he had attempted to hide his other victim Teddy in a roof box in the water as he poked around with a brand unaware he was being watched.Tim had just finished a night shift and was keeping an eye on Stephen when he was discovered by his phone ringing which prompted Stephen to scramble from the scene although he never spotted who was spying on him.However, teaser images released by ITV have shown the moment Stephen attempts to strangle the taxi driver, but will he be outed by Tim before he can claim yet another victim?
