However, during Monday night's (July 29) visit to the cobbles, the two characters, portrayed by the much-loved Barbara Knox and Sue Nicholls, were seen enjoying a drink together in the Rovers Return and it wasn't long until they got reminiscing.
Rita was transported to thinking of sandy beaches and sea air after seeing Amy Barlow with her bags packed as she headed off to a retreat with The Institute having been convinced to join by Leanne Battersby and her mentor Rowan Cunliffe. The storyline meant that cast members were seen a far cry from the famous street as they slipped into their swimwear and filmed on the Spanish beach.
