Trevor Carson has opened up on the behind the scenes of his collapsed move to Celtic. The now Dundee keeper was ready to make a dream move to Parkhead during Brendan Rodgers' first spell before the move broke down.
In his head, the deal to swap Motherwell for the Hoops was done but a series of events outside his control ended his hopes. He recalls how Freddie Woodman had been lined up to replace him on a loan from Newcastle but a Joe Lewis injury at Aberdeen meant the Dons needed another stopper and went in him and he picked the Granite City over Fir Park.Stephen Robinson - now in charge at St Mirren - was then put in a tricky position and the veteran said his old boss threatened to RESIGN if the club did a deal to sell him with the window slamming shut that same night.
In the end Scott Bain got the dream move to Parkhead and the rest is history with Carson also revealing a 40 minute chat with Rodgers AFTER the move broke down.Speaking on Open Goal, he said: "It was a life-time ago mate.
