John Barrowman has confessed to experiencing suicidal thoughts following the scandal surrounding his on-set behaviour. The Doctor Who star had previously acknowledged exposing himself on set, but had downplayed it as mere "tomfoolery" and "high-spirited behaviour" intended to entertain colleagues.

However, in a recent interview with the Mirror, he revealed that the scandal took a toll on his mental health. "I had thoughts of suicide, going out and trying to do certain things and harm myself, and a couple of times debating how I was going to kill myself," he admitted.

John, 57, credited his loved ones with preventing him from acting on these thoughts. "The thing was I couldn't do it because of my family and friends," he said, referencing his husband Scott Gill, whom he married in 2006.The controversy led to John losing his job on Dancing On Ice, and he expressed concerns about being "cancelled".

He disputed the narrative surrounding his actions, claiming that the incident was a "Something that was a stupid prank that was done amongst cast members and who the cast members never complained, never said anything about, but a narrative was created that apparently I was going around and throwing my c*** on people's shoulders, which was not true," that had been exaggerated.
