The Talk is finally coming back. The CBS daytime talk show has set its season premiere – returning on Monday October 9. It comes after much back and forth for the show, as a result of the writers strike and the fallout that involved a slew of daytime shows including The Drew Barrymore Show, which had planned to return before the writers had a deal.
Deadline revealed on September 9 thatThe Talk was planning to return on September 18. However, a week later, after WGA picketers had targeted the show outside CBS Radford and Barrymore had been shamed into postponing her own return, The Talk decided to postpone its comeback. The Talk, which is produced by CBS Studios, is heading into Season 14. Rob Crabbe, who was previously exec producer of The Late Late Show with James Corden, is now showrunner and exec producer of The Talk after Kristin Matthews left the show after 13 years.
