Care worker raises £1721 for Lanarkshire care home and Alzheimer's Scotland by shaving her hair

An East Kilbride care worker has managed to raise £1721 for a Lanarkshire care home and Alzheimer's Scotland by shaving her hair off.Activities Coordinator at Ryan Meadows Care Home in East Kilbride, Kathleen Crymble raised the mammoth amount by ‘Braving The Shave’ in front of some ‘horrified’ residents.The money was split between the Keane Premier Group Ltd care home, whose offices are based in Cambuslang, and Alzheimer's Scotland, with a representative recently picking up the cheque.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

So I thought if I am getting it cut, then I might as well do some good at the same time and raise some money.“I didn’t expect to raise as much as I did.

I thought I might get around £500. I set up a JustGiving page, but I also got a lot from families just coming in. The admin office made up a sponsor sheet and it all added up.“When the barber came in to cut my hair in the lounge some of the residents were absolutely horrified.
