Burnside Scouts celebrate youngest members' anniversary

The youngest members of a thriving Lanarkshire organisation enjoyed a special celebration as they marked their trailblazing group’s first anniversary.Volunteers at 113th Glasgow (Burnside) Scouts opened one of the UK’s first Squirrel sections as the movement began extending Scouting to four- and five-year-olds – and it has proved so popular that a second group is now opening later this month.Members celebrated their first birthday in style with a huge cake served up at a special activity evening, while six of the Squirrels were also presented with the section’s top honour, the Acorn award.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
