Broken English Productions & Women In Film Launch Initiative To Support New Women Filmmakers

EXCLUSIVE: Broken English Productions, a subsidiary of Grandave Capital, is partnering with Women In Film on a new initiative to showcase and empower the talents of three new women filmmakers through the production of three short films.

The initiative is led by Broken English Productions CEO Jolene Rodriguez To compete for one of the top three finalist positions, you must be a first time filmmaker and have an original script that’s less than 15 pages ready to submit via this link by midnight PT on February 9, 2024.

Three winners will receive a $30k grant each to produce a short film along with individualized mentorship and industry networking opportunities.

Completed films from the filmmakers will be submitted to various film festivals and will also have an industry screening. Data from the 2019 Cannes Film Festival revealed that only 25% of films in the official selection were directed by women.
