Three strip clubs, including one which calls itself 'Manchester's only superluxe playground', were granted licences today — but two of them didn’t show up for their crunch hearing.
Sexual entertainment venues (SEVs), as they are formally known, must renew their licence annually with the council in order to operate.
Friday’s (February 9) hearing was put in the diary at the start of the month. Despite advance notice, the applicants for two SEVs — Obsessions on Whitworth Street West and Victoria’s on Dantzic Street — didn’t show up at the meeting, with the committee deciding to hear their case in their absence.
