No trams are running from Rochdale due to a broken down car blocking the tracks. Metrolink services are not operating between the town centre and Freehold, affecting all stops to Oldham too, because of the blockage that was first reported this morning (March 10).

Tram tickets will be accepted on certain bus routes, including the 181, 182, 409 and 411. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has confirmed that Metrolink tickets can be used on Northern Rail services between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale Railway Station.

However, train services are also facing disruption. Rochdale councillor Janet Emsley shared her frustration on social media, saying in a post on X, formerly Twitter, she was 'trying desperately' to use public transport, but trains are delayed with some services cancelled. The latest update on the TfGM website says services have been affected since 6.45am this morning (March 10) and that the change will be in effect 'until further notice'.
