Weary Brits have been warned to take down clocks from their bedrooms in a bid to tackle the nation's problem with getting enough sleep.

Sleep deprivation can have a serious impact on emotional, physical and mental health and there are a range of simple ways it can be tackled.The Sleep Charity has devised a variety of tips to help people who are suffering the serious problem of poor sleep.

From restless rights to struggling to function well the following day, it's an issue that plagues millions. In fact, just one night of interrupted sleep can negatively affect your mood, attention span and ability to think clearly.

Among the changes the charity advises making at night is putting clocks out of sight. If you have a clock in your bedroom, for example, consider taking it down and putting it where you can't see it or, if you have an alarm clock, turning it away from you so the time is not longer visible.The charity explains: "It is common to watch the clock when we are awake at night.
